Words and Wisps: Autumn Ambience and Writing For Yourself
Sometimes just getting the writing down and done is the kindest thing you can do for yourself.
Words and Wisps is a personal ritual and reminder to write weekly and assemble monthly. Stitching together photos and handwritten notes to create a space for slow scrolling, minimal hyperlinking, and thinking through ink. This is evolving and experimental in nature and I welcome your thoughts as you read along.

Quality Filter
It's easy to mindlessly save articles for your future self to read, just in case. As a filter, I've started asking myself:
Do I care to hold an opinion on this topic? Why?
Am I willing to put in the work to upkeep and update this opinion as new information comes in? How?
Mooncakes
Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival with homemade mooncakes.
Awe-tumn Joys
Discovering a pristine back catalog of writing, photographs, or music from a favourite artist.
A pathway quilted with amber and auburn, woven by wind and fallen leaves.
A handwritten letter that took time to write, before taking its time to arrive.
Pears, ripe at first bite, and other sunlit spoils
Profound Prose
Edifying and uplifting writing can be found in the most unexpected of pages and places:
A poetry anthology from sixth grade
The preamble to a recipe for roast chicken
The inscription at the bottom of a giclée print
On a candle label embedded with wildflower seeds
Write For Yourself
Write for yourself, reinterpreted: By all means, keep writing for no one other than all possible versions of yourself. But sometimes, just getting the writing down and done is the kindest thing you can do for yourself. Clearing the way for new seasons and aspirations.
